About Aomori Airport

Aomori-Prefecture is located northernmost area of Honshu, the main island of Japan. The area is home to beautiful nature and diverse culture including the world heritage site "Shirakami-sanchi", "Hirosaki Park" with beautiful cherry blossom in spring, "Lake Towada" and "Oirase Gorge" which belong to the National Park, and one of Japan's largest remains in the Jomon period "Sannai Maruyama Ruins". The well-known annual festivals such as "Aomori Nebuta Festival", "Hirosaki Neputa Festival" and "Goshogawara Tachi-Neputa Festival" are held in August, drawing total 6 million people from both Japan and abroad. Aomori Airport is located in the center of Aomori-Prefecture, and the domestic flights between Aomori and Haneda, New Chitose, Osaka(Itami) are served by Japan Airlines(JAL). The international flights between Aomori and Incheon served by Korean Air(KAL) are currently operating four days a week.
